Julio and Carol is a feature length documentary co-produced in France, Argentina and Canada. Produced and Directed by Poll Pebe Pueyrredón. Written and Directed by Tobin Dalrymple.
As the world celebrates the 100th anniversary of Julio Cortazar — the masterpiece novelist who wrote Hopscotch — hardly anything is know about his last and greatest love, a Canadian girl named Carol Dunlop. 30 years after her mysterious death, this film travels three continents to meet with their old friends and family and retrace the tragic romance that reached its climax with the writing of their book, The Autonauts of the Cosmoroute, a travelogue of their absurd road trip in a VW camper from Paris to Marseille. It would be the last thing both of them ever wrote — in it, a map to living life more intensely, one final gift to the world.
